Located on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe is the Nordic country of Sweden. Visa to Sweden is available from the respective embassies of Sweden in different countries.

Time to visit Sweden:
Northern and southern Sweden experience different types of climate, but in general it is temperate due to the offshore Gulf Stream waters. Winters are quite extreme, particularly in the north where heavy frosts and handsome amount of snowfalls are regular in the winter. Summers are cozy and comfortable
Requirements for visa to Sweden:
To visit Sweden a person may need an entry visa. An entry visa is a permit required by persons wishing to enter Sweden for a temporary visit, as a tourist, on business, conference, to pay a visit to relatives and friends, or when passing through in transit.
To enter Sweden, citizens of some selected countries will not require a visa but definitely a valid passport for a stay up to 90 days. These countries include:
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Canada
- South Africa
- New Zealand
- Ireland
Documents required for visa to Sweden:
- Application form ( photo copy not accepted)
- 2 passport-size recent photographs
- Legitimate passport (For a minimum of 180 days prior to your arrival in Sweden)
- Approved itineraries
- Evidence of sufficient funds
- Proof of attendance at educational institute (students visa)
- Proof of purpose of visit
- Medical certificate from physician
- Photocopies of all the original documents
Validity period of visa to Sweden:
Generally Visas are given for a maximum of 3 months at a time. However in some exceptional cases applicants are allotted visa for a visit of more than 90 days duration, but it never exceeds 12 months.
Please note that holders of Schengen visas are still subject to immigration control and are not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries, even though they may hold a valid visa for these countries.
