| Air India is the largest and the flagship carrier of India. Air India has a huge network of passenger and cargo services all over the world. Air India is based at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi and other hubs are at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Chennai International Airport. Through its vast network Air India now connects 95 destinations across the globe which include 12 domestic gateways. Being an Asian airline in itself, Air India a busy operation in different areal routes in Asia. Most of the international airports in Asia are served by several Air India flights daily. The aviation company also operates one fully-owned subsidiary company named Air India Express which focuses mainly on international operations.
Air India was founded in India in the year 1932 by JRD Tata, the founder of Tata Steel. The airline started operating international flights from the year 1946, and from then on Air India flights have been landing in and taking off off from several airports in Asia.
